BUCKEYE 200 ULTRA RUN

On August 10, 2025, Katie completed her 1st 200-mile race, the Buckeye 200 Ultra Run, placing 1st female and 3rd overall.

CANAL CORRIDOR 100-MILE ENDURANCE RUN

On October 13, 2024, Katie completed her 1st 100-mile run post-ACL surgery on the Towpath Trail in Northeast Ohio.

RUN4WATER FROM ZERO TO 26.2

In 2022, Spotz faced one of her greatest physical setbacks yet — a fully-ruptured ACL. Katie tested the limits by embarking on Zero to 26.2, running a marathon less than one year after surgery.

SKATE4WATER ACROSS THE FLORIDA KEYS

In February 2022, Spotz in-line skated 119-miles across the Florida Keys for clean water in Haiti. She finished the journey despite an accident causing a torn ACL/MCL on Day 3.

RIDE4WATER ACROSS MAINE

In September 2021, Spotz cycled 360-miles along the coastline of Maine to fund a clean water project in Uganda.

RUN4WATER: RUN ACROSS OHIO

On July 1, 2021, Spotz set a new female GWR for running the most consecutive ultramarathons in a row.

TOUR OF NEW ZEALAND

In April 2019 and in April 2015, Katie was part a seven-day, 700km staged race across the North and South Island of New Zealand with 150 other cyclists from around the world.

IRONMAN LOUISVILLE

In August 2014, Spotz finished with a time of 11:36. She raised more than $11,000 for water projects in India.

IRONMAN TEXAS

In May 2016, Spotz finished her fastest Ironman with a time of 10:04. She raised more than $3,000 for a water project in South Africa.

IRONMAN CHATTANOOGA

In September 2015, Spotz placed in her age group with a time of 10:45. She raised $5,000 for two water projects in South Africa.

IRONMAN LOUISVILLE

This marks Katie’s 5th successful Ironman finish in a time of 11:39 in October 2017. She raised funds for a school in Kenya and Uganda.

CLEVELAND TRIATHLON

In July 2015, Spotz took 1st place as the overall female winner in the Olympic distance race.

REV3 CEDAR POINT FULL TRIATHLON

In September 2013, Spotz placed 1st in her division and 2nd overall female, with a time of 10:48 for the 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike, and 26.2-mile run.

600K BREVET

In May 2011, Spotz cycled 375-miles in 24 hours with nearly 20,000 feet of climbing. This was part of the San Francisco Randonneurs 600K Fort Bragg Brevet, a long-distance unsupported event.

Swim for Water

Spotz became the first and only person to swim the entire 325-mile length of the Allegheny River ‒ swimming 12 to 15 miles a day, 6 to 8 hours a day for a month.

 

Columbus Marathon

In 2005, Katie completed her 1st marathon, and… the rest is history!

 

SPARTAN ULTRA OHIO

On May 17, 2025, Katie completed her first Spartan Ultra — a brutal test of grit spanning 31 miles and 60 obstacles earning 3rd place in the women’s open division.

 

A LONG WAY 4 WATER

In October 2024, Katie completed a 3,100-mile journey across the continent of South America. Over the course of 9 weeks, Katie crossed the length of Guyana, Brazil, and Peru by bicycle and kayak.

HELL ON HOGSBACK

In August 2024, Katie placed 1st overall in the 12-Hour Division, completing 59.19 miles or 74 total laps, setting a new course record.

RUN4WATER: RUN ACROSS MAINE

On September 6, 2020, Spotz became the first person to run nonstop 137.8-miles across the state of Maine in 33 hours.

RUN ACROSS NEW HAMPSHIRE

In June 2020, Spotz ran nonstop across the state in 11 hours.

In August 2020, Spotz ran nonstop across the state in 13 hours.

 

ERIE MARATHON

In September 2018, Katie once again qualified for the Boston Marathon finishing the 26.2 mile run in 3 hours 27 minutes.

THE PISTOL ULTRA RUN

Starting on New Years Eve and finishing on New Years Day of 2017, Spotz finished her second 100-mile race.

EAGLE UP ULTRA 24 HOUR RUN

In June 2017, after nineteen hours and 53 minutes, Katie placed 2nd overall female in the 100 mile distance. This finish marked Katie's third successful 100-mile run in less than a year.

NORTHCOAST 24-HOUR ENDURANCE RUN

In September 2016, Katie placed 6th overall female in the USATF 24 Hour National Championship Event covering 100.88 miles. Nearly 200 runners from 3 countries and more than 30 states competed in the race.

BUFFALO MARATHON

In May 2015, Spotz qualified for the Boston Marathon with a time of 3:27 at Buffalo Marathon and placed 3rd in her age-group.

Ride4Water

Spotz and Sam Williamss, with their team completed the 3,000-mile relay bicycle Race Across America in less than eight days, cycling 24/7. Amazingly, Katie broke her pelvic while training the week before the race, but went on to compete using a hand-cycle.

Row for Water

Spotz set the world record as the youngest person to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean, rowing 3,038 miles from West Africa to South America over 70 days alone at sea.

Big Ride Across America

Katie cycled 3,300 miles across the United States from Seattle to D.C., averaging 85 miles a day for 40 days. Together, with 40 other cyclists, they raised more than $250,000 for the American Lung Association.
