On October 13, 2024, Katie completed her 1st 100-mile run post-ACL surgery on the Towpath Trail in Northeast Ohio.
In October 2024, Katie completed her latest adventure, A Long Way 4 Water, a 3,100-mile journey across the continent of South America. Over the course of 9 weeks, Katie crossed the length of Guyana, Brazil, and Peru by bicycle and kayak.
In August 2024, Katie placed 1st overall in the 12-Hour Division, completing 59.19 miles or 74 total laps.
In 2022, Spotz faced one of her greatest physical setbacks yet — a fully-ruptured ACL. Katie tested the limits by embarking on Zero to 26.2, running a marathon less than one year after surgery.
On February 14-18, 2022, Spotz in-line skated 119-miles across the Florida Keys for clean water in Haiti.
On September 5-10, 2021, Spotz cycled 360-miles along the coastline of Maine to fund a clean water project in Uganda.
On July 1, 2021, Spotz set a new female GWR for running the most consecutive ultramarathons in a row.
On September 6, 2020, Spotz became the first person to run nonstop 137.8-miles across the state of Maine in 33 hours.
On August 7, 2020, Spotz became the first woman to run nonstop across the state of Vermont in 13 hours.
On June 27, 2020, Spotz became the first woman to run nonstop across the state of New Hampshire in 11 hours.
In April 2019 and in April 2015, Katie was part a seven-day, 700km staged race across the North and South Island of New Zealand with 150 other cyclists from around the world.
In September 2018, Katie once again qualified for the Boston Marathon finishing the 26.2 mile run in 3 hours 27 minutes.
This marks Katie’s 5th successful Ironman finish in a time of 11:39 in October 2017. She raised funds for a school in Kenya and Uganda.
In June 2017, after nineteen hours and 53 minutes, Katie placed 2nd overall female in the 100 mile distance. This finish marked Katie's third successful 100-mile run in less than a year.
Starting on New Years Eve and finishing on New Years Day of 2017, Spotz placed within the top ten overall female in the 100 mile distance.
In September 2016, Katie placed 6th overall female in the USATF 24 Hour National Championship Event covering 100.88 miles. Nearly 200 runners from 3 countries and more than 30 states competed in the race.
In May 2016, Spotz finished her fastest Ironman with a time of 10:04. She raised more than $3,000 for a water project in South Africa.
In September 2015, Spotz placed in the top ten in her age group with a time of 10:45. She raised $5,000 for two water projects in South Africa.
In July 2015, Spotz took 1st place as the overall female winner in the Olympic distance race. Read more here.
In May 2015, Spotz qualified for the Boston Marathon with a time of 3:27 at Buffalo Marathon and placed 3rd in her age-group.
In August 2014, Spotz placed top ten in her age group with a time of 11:36. She raised more than $11,000 for water projects in India.
In September 2013, Spotz placed 1st in her division and 2nd overall female, with a time of 10:48 for the 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike, and 26.2-mile run.
